My Opinon

My Opinion

No one ever really asks me for my opinion on anything, but I do have one. When I hear people talking about religion and stuff, I kind of feel confused because I hear so many different theories that I don’t know what to believe. When I am home with all my family and cousins we usually get into big arguments about the way one acts or how the other has attitude and personally I believe that we are or I am the way I am because of how they treat me or because I know how they’ll respond to it. There is never a way out of anything with my family, they are mostly just so close minded and don’t like to try new ideas or new options. They think since I am only 17 I don’t know as much as they do, but in reality I know a lot more. My dad is the one person I go to for everything. I go to my dad because he understands and doesn't judge me. If I have a crazy idea he’ll listen to it and then tell me what I should do. My dad tries his best to keep up with me and I know it’s sometimes hard for him so I try to make it easier for him. I think it is easier to talk to my dad about anything because he is not like the rest of my uncles, aunts, and cousins, he is very open minded and likes to try new things. Me and my mom are more like sisters. I can tell her some things but I know she wont agree. Me and my mom always fight but we always apologize after. I do love my family very much, but I personally think that too much family isn't so good. We all get tired of having to deal with one another once in a while that we end fighting and sometimes after those fights nothing is the same. I like the fact that you let us write about anything right now, because I really do have a lot that I have to say but no one really listens, so thank you.

St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick’s Day

1. He is the patron saint of Ireland, is one of Christianity’s most widely known figures. But for all his celebrity, his life remains somewhat of a mystery. Many of the stories traditionally associated with St. Patrick, including the famous account of his banishing all the snakes from Ireland, are false, the products of hundreds of years exaggerated storytelling.

2. To celebrate the Roman Catholic feast day of the patron saint of Ireland. He died on March 17, 461.

3. St. Patrick’s Day is designated when it is, because that was the day that St, Patrick died.

4. We wear green on St. Patrick’s Day because it was worn for good luck. The friendly brothers of St. Patrick, an Irish fraternity founded in about 1750, adopted green as its color.

5. I find it interesting how much there really is to learn about this day. I never really understood the meaning of St. Patrick’s Day, but now I do. I would love to participate on this day. St. Patrick was actually a saint that I never knew about.

Olivet Middle School

Olivet Middle School
In Olivet middle school the football team decided to do something not many most people would think of doing. They one day decide to get as close to the touch down as possible, but not make a touchdown. They had a team member who had a mental problem and reacted a little younger for his age. The football team adored him, so they wanted to do something meaningful for him. When one of the players got as close to the touch down as possible, he kneeled down. Then they brought in the boy and when the whistle blew they covered him so no one would touch him, and made the touch down. They let him make the touchdown. Not many people would think of doing this, but these team members wanted to make someone’s week, month, day happy. This was a very nice thing to do because they made that little boy so happy, even if it was just for a couple of minutes. That meant more than you could think of to that boy.

“They’re only
truly great
who are truly
 good.”

George Chapman

Reflection: I think he means that if you're truly good then you are truly great. If you are bad or hang out with the wrong people and do drugs, then you are not truly great. If you are a good student and work hard and hang out with the right crowd, then you are truly great. Those who do good, are good.

Cheating: Is the short term gain worth the long term pain?

“Many think that the short term gain will be worth the long term pain, but it isn’t. In addition, using steroids is cheating, and there is nothing worse in sports than a cheater. Don’t do it.”

GEORGE MITCHELL, Senate Majority Leader, Presidential Medal of Freedom, Disney Chairman of the Board.

Reflection: What i think he is trying to say is that it is not worth to cheat if you're only going to be happy for a little while. why cheat and then be sad forever knowing that you did something bad. It is best to do what is right and have a long term happy feeling.

"I won't
cheat"
Dale Murphy

Reflection: I think that he is trying to tell us, not to cheat. It is never okay to cheat. If you cheat in life then you are cheating yourself. Choose the right and do not cheat.
