Veterans Day
November 11, 1918 was the day that
they said “ the war to end all wars”. The treaty of Versailles was signed. Veterans Day is when we celebrate and honor
those in the wars and those you tragically died during the war. President
Wilson proclaimed November 11 as the first commemoration of Armistice Day. The original
concept for the celebration was for a day observed with parades and public meetings
and a brief suspension of business beginning at 11:00 am. The united states
finally recognized the end of world war 1 when it passed a concurrent
resolution on June 4, 1926. A lot of soldiers and nurses died on this day, and
it’s nice that we have a day to honor them.

Reflection: I think that it is nice that we have a day to honor those who
served our country. They died with honor for this country and they were very
brave to have done what they did. They to had families and were loved, they
were humans, living and breathing and to thank them and their families for what
they did we give them a day to honor them.
